Wagyu Ya Teppanyaki, the fourth venue from Melbourne based Wagyu Ya Group, is now open in Glen Waverley’s ever-popular dining and shopping destination, The Glen.
The new 70 seat venue offers four unique dining spaces, including casual counter seating at the open teppanyaki grill, intimate booth seating, a dedicated sushi bar and a private dining room.
Wagyu Ya Teppanyaki will differ from the usual spectacle that sees a game of throw and catch between chefs and diners, often repurposed in teppanyaki restaurants across Melbourne, and instead offer an authentic Teppanyaki experience that marries traditional Japanese dishes with classical French sauces and Italian flavours.
Holding the only licence in Victoria to import Japan’s Kobe A5 wagyu beef, one of the highest grade wagyu in the world, Wagyu Ya Teppanyaki continues to showcase premium Japanese cuisine, through an elevated and authentic teppanyaki experience. The new 70 seat venue spans across four unique spaces, including casual counter seating at the open teppanyaki grill, intimate booth seating, a dedicated sushi bar and a private dining room.
Upon entry, guests are welcomed by a zen garden with a flowing water feature before moving through to the main dining room, where they are met by a brigade of chefs behind the lively teppan grills, led by Head Teppanyaki Chef, Jason Yong. Working in partnership with Yong is Saucier, Hori Shinshuke, who boasts a 15 year career mastering the art of seamlessly fusing Japanese ingredients with classical French and Italian cooking techniques, to deliver an authentic teppanyaki experience.
