Woolshed Event Venue Set To ‘Herd’ In The Crowds at Docklands

The  much-loved  Melbourne institution  will  bring  the  party  back  to  Docklands  with  its  vibrant  new  décor  and  rejuvenated  menu   after  a  5-month  redevelopment. The  new  interior  courtesy  of  Airstream  Architects  showcases  the  raw  and  exposed  architecture,   rustic  charm  and  waterfront  views  that  are  sure  to  herd  in  the  crowds  for  the  popular  Docklands   watering  hole.

The  refined  interior  finishes  and  brand  new  event  spaces  such  as  the  Harbour  View  Room  and Mezzanine  signal  a  change  from  the  Woolshed  as  a  ‘pub’  to  a  hospitality  destination  with  a   restaurant,  bar  and  event  spaces. A  refreshed  menu  from  Head  Chef,  Catherine  Kalka,  will  feature  old  favourites  including  the  to-die- for  Sticky  Date  Pudding,  mixed  with  new  creations  such  as  Red  Kampot  Pepper  Prawns  plus  a   new  signature  dish  –  Roasted  Duck  and  Sea  Scallop  Salad  with  Soba  Noodles  and  a  Sesame   Sambal. The  extensive  menu  showcases  locally  sourced  produce  with  a  modern  gastronomic  twist.   Specialising  in  aged  meats,  fresh  seafood  and  an  extensive  wine  list  showcasing  over  150  of  the   best  varietals  from  Australia  and  New  Zealand,  the  Woolshed  will  be  reinstated  as  a  favourite  for   social  dining,  drinks  and  exclusive  events.

The  Woolshed  was  built  in  1916  and  was  originally  used  as  a  wool  storage  facility  in  the  Victoria   Harbour  port.  It  was  re-developed  by  Schiavello  Group  and  opened  January  2010  in  Shed  9  of   Melbourne’s  old  docking  and  shipping  hub  which  now  forms  a  slice  of  the  Dockland’s   redevelopment  as  part  of  the  thriving  Central  Pier  entertainment  precinct. Based  in  the  dynamic  and  ever  changing  Docklands,  the  Woolshed  is  a  multi-faceted  facility   catering  to  both  the  corporate  and  social  client  for  a  magnitude  of  different  events  ranging  from  20 to 720  guests.
